are a three piece 60's Power Pop/Rock band taking you on a Magical Mystery Tour ‘trip’ through the fun & fab times of the 60s! Featuring your favourite hit songs from the period performed in 60's rock star fashion & costume! Showcasing catchy classic ‘60s tunes with outstanding musicianship and vocal harmonies THE RETRO STARS perform songs from The Kinks, The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Byrds, The Monkees, Steppenwolf, Elvis, The Spencer Davis Group, Chuck Berry, Roy Orbison, The Yardbirds, The Easybeats and of course the biggest band of all time… The Beatles! Plus many more…including some 60s surprises! The band feature ’60s style guitars, amplifiers, drums and paraphernalia to recreate an authentic sound and fun atmosphere. THE RETRO STARS are David Gillard - Vocals, Guitar, Harmonica. (Ex Rubber Soul - The Beatles Show) David spent the last twenty years managing & performing in RUBBER SOUL - THE BEATLES SHOW regarded as Australia’s number one authentic Beatles Tribute Band. Rubber Soul toured internationally and around Australia. Highlights include performances in Hong Kong for the Peace & Love Exhibition and aboard the Historic 100th Anniversary Gallipoli Cruise. Also radio & television performances with an appearance on the popular tv program Spicks And Specks which featured the band in a special 60s episode, and a released DVD titled Up To Our Eras! The episode is still being shown numerous times on ABC TV. After a long and successful run Rubber Soul disbanded in February 2022.
